HoloPrint® uniA6 DT

The HoloPrint® uniA6 DT is an affordable, portable, and easy-to-use desktop unit for lab-scale nanoimprint lithography work. It is the perfect device for fast prototyping, testing, and characterization of structures’ properties, photo-curable resins, and imprinting materials. The typical applications are ranging from imprinting, lab-on-chip, diffractive optical elements, and other nano-imprinted structures. The HoloPrint® uniA6 DT works within its own protected environment, therefore, the investment needed for a cleanroom can be allocated elsewhere.

The HoloPrint® uniA6 DT was developed by Stensborg’s engineers as a much smaller and cost-competitive roll-to-plate imprinter compared to the traditional nanoimprint tools dominating the industry. It is the first of its kind nanoimprint lithography desktop roll-to-plate (R2P) device.

Due to a nip contact area, our roll-to-plate NIL process utilises an adjustable imprinting force to minimize material shrinkage at the same time reducing air bubble issues. Our patented nip process also reduces demand on substrate conformity resulting in reduced costs and higher yield. 

We designed our NIL Desktop to be very cost-competitive and still present a high potential to produce NIL in superior quality. We measured the capacity for our imprinter up to 60 plates/wafers per hour.

Prototyping

The HoloPrint® uniA6 DT enables fail-fast philosophy thinking which will accelerate your development process cycle. It allows fast iterations of the development cycle by quickly testing out new designs, therefore, it is a perfect device for prototyping. It enables you to experiment and test many imprinting techniques, the right type of light-curable resin, and processing parameters such as pressure, speed, and light intensity to characterize important parameters before scaling to mass production. Thus, with fewer iterations, you will be able to construct the prototypes in-house and save time and resources. With the HoloPrint® uniA6 DT, you can also make your own imprint templates from our easy-to-use DIY consumables

Unique optical engine 

Light-emitting diodes were implemented in our optical engine for high volume production almost a decade ago to replace bulky UV gas discharge tube light engines. The optical engine is an essential part of the HoloPrint® uniA6 DT as it provides the highly focused photonic energy providing the curing in the roller nip by creating a chemical reaction in the light-curable resin providing the resin to goes from an elastic to a plastic state. We made a patent application on our unique optical engine design enabling our HoloPrint® uniA6 DT to be smaller and more cost-effective. The imprinter includes Stensborg’s patented, optical engine which includes longlife 395nm light-emitting diodes (LED) with passive cooling as well as an optional water cooling built-in feature for extreme exposure demands.
